    Hi Guys:
This is my first post to this forum. It concerns a piece of
WWII German equipment. Please check out the following
photos. I have no idea what it was used for, some have
offered ideas but nothing definite. In the pics the round
circular pieces are actually translucent celluloid with numbers
and marks on them (they don't show up too well in the
pics. I think they are translucent so that light can shine
through from the bottom and they can be seen at night?
    Thanks,
    Bob32268

Hi Bob, the FL number would indicate it is a Luftwaffe aircraft part. My guess is part of a bomb sight as other numbers in this range seem to be for sights etc.

    Welcome to the forum too!

    Cheers, Ade.

    Hi Ade:
Thanks for your reply. Some type of bomb-sight has
always been one of my pet theories for this item. I just
didn't know how to prove it. I wonder which bomber(s) it
would have been installed in? Where could I find interior
pics of He111's or JU87's to see if they had a piece of
    equipment like this?
    Tks,
    Bob

    Hi Ade:
Thanks for the web sight on Luftwaffe part nos.
It's a very good reference piece. The part nos. seem
to jump over my piece. FL796 to FL870. Where could
I find out about the numbers in between? Any more
web sights or links that I could try?
    Tks,
    Bob

    Hi Ade:
Thanks again for your help. You pointed me in the
right direction. I'll have to do some research from my
    side of the Atlantic.
    Tks again,
    Bob
