What makes this one beautiful in my eyes is the brown strapping. The trick with hoplessly try straps is simple, I have several experiences: to open and remove the straps just put the whole canteen in warm water, usually 5-10 minutes is enaough to make leather very soft. I had done it from time to time, because sometimes the cover needs to be cleaned or the drinking cup needs to be placed the other way (yours too needs to be turned around!) etc. When everything's fixed, I'll put it together again and off to my shell it goes. As soon as the leather tries it's crispy like cookie again, but it doesn't matter for me as far as it looks ok.
