WWII Deutsche Reichsbahn Railway Lantern
My latest pickup. I have been wanting to add this one to my lantern, stove & light collection. Got home today and decided to light her up. Made sure the components were clean & it worked first attempt. It is very interesting how these old lanterns worked. Likely they could tell some good and not so good stories. I also picked up a very cool early brass model that I will post some pictures of over the weekend. Hope you enjoy. Rossi

I also have to thank John (Rescue 190). The small oval Reichsbahn tag did not come with lantern. We are not sure if it is a worker ID tag, laundry tag or token of some type. Initials L W and number 81 is inscribed into front with reichs adler. Kassel information on back. John sold it to me this week and I could not think of a nicer place to hang and display it than the handle of the lantern with a period string I had laying around.

Also a shout out to my RAD brother Gwar who inspired me with the You Tube video on how these work. AzPhil with the thoughts of cannons made lighting it fun. No booms. Thanks boys. Iron Sharpens Iron. I have a brass one I will post tomorrow. I am going to tinker with it tonight to see if I can get it in working order.

Greats pics. Fun to see it in working order. Most of us have items that were not ever used and still do not use for various reasons. Great addition to your collection.
