I believe they did! Pretty scary eh?

It amuses me that Hollywood always use the Stuka sirens on any aircraft that is plummeting in their films !

Does anyone have a WWII photo of these flags in use? As far as I know gas was not usedin WWII so maybe they used flag for marking minefields?

Pictures exist of what looks like training with these and full gas capes etc... and also of the official manual (?) for these. I posted these on another thread so you could try searching for the info.

Here are some images for you. No evidence they were ever used in anger though and no evidence they were ever used as minefield warning flags either that I have seen.

The long pouch in the first pic is the carrying 'holster' for these.
