Y-straps..look ok?

Article about: Picked these up a while back for a uniform. They look original for the most part...except for the strap that goes in back but he two front straps look fine,IMO . Opinons welcome. Dean.

    Well, front part look ok, but set is not very desirable if the original end piece is not there....

    Hello Dean,
    Yes, the front part of these Y-straps is late war original but incomplete as small leather parts that end the main straps are missing (one for sure is missing, hard to see to other one...). In addition, as Tom mentioned it, the set is not very desirable because of this wrong backstrap...
    in the red oval, you can see holes where the missing small leather parts were sewn...
    I like this late war variant with bigger D-rings than usual.....

    are you sure the metal parts are for this Y strap and not a LW one?

    An now, LW straps. The metal parts are simple

    As small leather parts are missing, front hooks may have been changed of course, i thought about it also...but this type of hooks was not used for the Luftwaffe only...many Heer Y-straps, especially late war, were fitted with these...
    Usually you can say they've been changed because of the different paint applied on the them...

    Are the brown ones on the left on the 1st picture Y straps or Tornister straps ?

    For me? This Y straps are a late version, with rbnr, and the leather is not black, natural.
    I have also one Y strap made with a French one and a friend of mine have one in British web.
