Ha Ha! Yeah, I nearly had a heart attack when I saw it. I actually go out trying to find WW2 items and this was in my shed all along.

Before and after
it shows plenty of great restorations on German ammo boxes and other items and if you read through it also provides the tried and tested methods.
If you can manage to restore it to the quality of these you'll have a great show piece. If you do attempt to please photograph the stages and post it on the Restoration section.
