Carboot find - 11th April 2010

Hi all

Well my first carboot of the season and it was a good one. Quite a few bits on the boot this weekend, but unfortunately most people knew what they had, (for example a WW2 German mess tin 'set' with all the right stamps and marks, dated 1940, guy wanted £80 ), but one either didn't know what he had or just wanted rid.

Either way, I got it off him for £3.

A lovely 1943 dated (base of headstamp but quite feint), 25 pounder shell case to go with my others



It had a couple of dimps in the top and a couple of areas of the rim had turned over, but I've fixed it up and given it a good polishing.

It's a beauty



....and a steal at three quid

Nice find looks really nice and will look better if you maybe polish it up? maybe one day I'll find something like that at a car boot sale

I only have about 150 and she's moaning.

Nice collection mate I see loads of trench art cases at the car boot but I only collect them in original condition

There's a LOT of work gone into some of the ones you have !
