Well, first car boot of the season for me and not a bad one at all.

Actually, it was bloody awful for the first hour.........all DVDs. women's shoes and baby clothes. Then I spotted something in a box and the shape made me look a bit more. Sure enough, I opened the bag and out popped a civilian WW2 gasmask, intact and dated 1938.

I beat the guy down to £3.

I can now replace the one in the canvas box I bought last year that had all but rotted away

Funnily enough, this one has the 'owner's' name on one of the straps.

Well done. I was at our local one today as well with high hopes as it was the first one of the season. And drew a big fat blank.
So well done, nice score, and happy hunting for future ones.

Definitely a winner Steve! especially for £3.00, I spent the same on the bus fare into town today Even nicer that its marked with the former owners name, nice one!

    Thanks

Funnily enough, the name on the mask corresponds with the current arable farming concern of J.Wood & Partners, Hill Top Farm, Walcote, Lutterworth, Leicestershire. More than a coincidence I would imagine.
