Had an absolute great day today. First, i hit a sale and picked up a WWII Navy grouping from a sailor from the USS Biloxi. Included were, various photo's, dog tag, discharge papers, a uniform shirt and some books, which included one called the USS Biloxi CRUISE BOOK/UNIT HISTORY, which i have learned is pretty rare. The best part was that the shirt was inside out, unbeknownst to me. When i got home and flipped it out, the original ribbons and patches were still on it.
Next find, a garrison cap with the 91st division pine tree insignia sewn on
Last, and best. An M1, front seam, fixed bale helmet, with a hawley liner. This is so cool! Has a battle dent on it, and the soldiers name written on it, with "Torpedo'd August 20, 1943"... wow! Pics to come later!
