It happened again! This time a customer saw my sign and donated a JAPANESE COMBAT HELMET to me!

He said his grandfather took it as a souvenir while fighting on Iwo Jima!

Great score! That's a very desirable helmet in great condition with the net as well, excellent!

    Regards, Ned.

It appears to be a repainted and reissued M35. Interior shots would help. NH

Here are better pics as promised. Sorry if they are a little bright... it's VERY sunny here in NY right now. Please let me know if anyone requires more pictures.

As you can see, the band that attaches the liner to the steel helmet is VERY fragile.

Here you can see the little rip that the man who donated it to me mentioned...

... is that white mark a Japanese character?

I really do not know ANYTHING about Japanese militaria. How rare are these helmets/ how much are they worth?

I decided to look for more markings on the helmet.... FOUND SOME!

Here is the white mark from before that I hope is a Japanese character. There is also a "S" or "8" stamped into the skirt of the helmet.

Here is the big one! I'm hoping it's a name or some other important information!

This pic may be up-side-down or sideways... I don't know anything about Japanese characters.

Found some paper items and a coin in the garbage today!

The letters seem to be written from German soldiers to their family's/ girlfriends.

The ration coupon booklets are made out to citizens from hometown!

Can anyone help translate any of it?

Unfortunately, the envelopes and letters were all jumbled up when I got this stuff... so I don't know what, if any of them go together.

Sorry the about the bad picture for this one...

This guy had sloppier handwriting than I have!

I don't know exactly what these specific coupons were for just yet... but it doesn't seem like this family ate very much... the booklets are from early on in the war, and they're still pretty full.

This ration books will be AMAZING teaching aids!

This just came in with an OD green duffle bag with white cloth draw strings. The duffle bag still has a tag on them from when the soldier flew on American Airlines wayyyy back when.

Both are extremely dirty and STINKY.

    Can someone ID the pin?
