just remind her that its a beaded helmet and was not considered for use in combat therefore is no use as a crash helmet
lol, I tried that too. This woman is stubborn. She said: "I normally just wear a leather beanie, or nothing at all... so the metal helmet will be better than nothing. Plus, it's heavy!"

Just let her crash and bump her head in the side walk, she will learn that way.
    Cheers.

Good Lord!-are there no standards in the US as to what a motorcycle crash helmet is? You may as well wear a cooking pot on your head as any military type helmet-ask her if she's keen on being a drooling vegetable for a few decades or accept an offer of a real crash helmet!

This came in the trash this past weekend while I was away in Colorado.

U.S. Garand or Springfield bayonet cut down in size? It also appears that the scabbard was painted a copper color over the standard green?

Hello all! After a hard day of teaching history... these items were waiting for me at the facility sitting in a big milk crate!

Unfortunately, I do not yet know the story behind these items... What exactly do I have on my hands here? Is everything authentic?! Can someone help me put a value on these items?

    THANKS!

This appears to be an M40 lid... no liner and chinstrap unfortunately. There is only one stamp on the rear skirt... I am not familiar with it.

I can't really make out the stamping.... S1890?

    Gasmask and canister:

You can see the adler and swaz ink stamp...Nov. 44

    DAK(?) Binoculars:

    cag and blue triangle

Dienstglas 6x30 and serial number 127153

I'm thinking this might be a WW1 canteen?

    Detail on the canteen buttons:

This was with it all... but I'm thinking it's a repro. I originally thought it was a K98 bayo... but it's clearly got a Russian maker mark.

    Maker marks?

Maker marks on the scabbard and frog

Please let me know if any additional pictures are required. I'm thrilled about this!

Got these magazines a while ago... there are about 25 of them from the late 1940s.
