I owe it all to my parents!

Our "to go" pile is getting very small... a sure sign that winter is around the corner. I'm not very optimistic that I'll be finding much more until the spring and summer.
Always be optimistic when it comes to things like this, it keeps you going!

You beat me to the punch!

This canteen cup (assuming it belongs to the canteen I posted earlier) and fork/spoon combo were found today. I'm assuming all this stuff came in together, but got separated as our men and machines worked through the trash heap.

The canteen and fork/spoon are for sale btw!

Nice! But why is the canteen red?

I asked the same question in another thread. Some factories panted their canteens different colors... I guess it was a way of easily telling who made the canteen instead of searching for a faint maker stamp.

Well, practicality is the key! The fork/spoon combo (Or as we here in Finland call it, LuHa for lusikka haarukka) appears to have very sharp tips on the fork

They are pretty sharp, but the poor lighting in the picture makes them look like needles! They aren't that sharp... sorry!

Although not quite the same, we call fork and spoon combinations in the USA Sporks. (sp from spoon, ork from fork) :P

Known as a spork in some circles, the red canteen was a later war paint method if I remember correctly.

Here in England in the military we used to call the combination of eating tools KFSM--- knife, fork, spoon, mug
