Japanese finds in my Dad's items

Article about: I found what I believe to be a set of dog tags and what I believe is a Japanese personal flag that they had signed by family and friends for good luck. Dad fought with USMC 4th Division A-1-

    This is not a Japanese dog tag.
    Here is my example of a Japanese dog tag to compare, a little rough, but original regardless.

    OP, don't be surprised if the flag is a seabee souvenir. I have a flag obtained from a relative that he got in Korea as part of the early occupation force there. His unit was rehearsing for the pending invasion when the bombs were dropped, then they shipped immediately to Korea. The flag was obtained there in Korea along with a Type 26 revolver. The flag has characters on it that signify his name and address, and a buddy's name and address. They had that done there as a memento. It's just as important to me as any other battle flag.
