no markings on it?.looks military a survayers tripod.

Ive seen periscope tripods that look similar?
From what i've researched the surveyors ones tend to have flat tops and not spindles?
Could you post a photo with the centre cap removed please?

A couple more questions I'm afraid.
Does the spigot pull out of the top, and is the section that sticks out underneath another cover?
Hi, Spigot does not pull out, and no its not a cover but i have added a photo of it for you. I didn't realise the legs bent both ways.
I would agree with Harry-it looks like a military surveyors tripod. Without definitive markings, though, it would be almost impossible to age or ascribe to any certainly country.

It would seem it's of Swiss origin, and for artillery binoculars.
