Hi Gogas, welcome to the forum................!
It looks like a decorator.
Are there any markings anywhere, perhaps on the spine ?
Regards,
Steve.
Nop no marks Steve, just a plane blade with a bit o rust. Just found it cool, it took me 30 Euros to buy the thing, I wasn't really counting on making a good discovery, I just liked it, and since I had never seen nothing like it, I had to ask.
Thanks Steve
Best regards
Guess that was not too much $$ to pay, as long as YOU like it,
but I do not think it is a true military sword. There is not
enough quality in the way the hand guard is made.
It is too thin and the 'etching' is weak, IMO.
There are a lot of Spanish and India made pieces out there,
and this may be one of them..............
Regards,
Steve.
I agree with walkwolf. I have bought many spanish and indian swords before. Although they were of nicer quality than yours, they were "tourist" items. For 30 euros it is a good wall hanger.
All of this looks a little too flimsy and if there weren't any markings on it at all, i highly doubt that this is a military sword of any sort.
Thanks for the help you guys!
best regards
G.
