    So I am helping my elderly father clear out his shed from years of accumulation. We take down some boxes and this is in one of them!!!
    He cant remember when he got it - must have been 40 years ago he thinks at an auction - but now its mine............

    But what is it from? ... a Lib / B17 / ???
    (I have seen the small ones but this is about 12" in diameter & 24" long )

    I was thinking B17.
    Coming from a B17 fan,That is AWESOME

    It looks like they might have used the same bottle on the Lib also.

    I believe these were standard and interchangeable for B-17 and B-24. In any case, that is a superb relic !

    Found out that the RAAF had B-24's but not B-17's.
    Being bought locally way back when leads me to think it was surplus from a Liberator.

    I think B 17, very easy to find in the past. We had many crashes on France.

    Very nice.
    My guess would be a Lib tank. It looks used, not unissued surplus. I've seen websites somewhere with all the specs on the different tanks - I wish I'd saved the links.
