    Default ANZAC Day

    Congratulations and respect from the UK to all our Aussie and Kiwi mates!

    The area I now call home in Wiltshire, England was a massive WWI staging and training area for thousands of Commonwealth troops bound for the continent.

    Many left a permanent mark on the landscape in chalk outlines carved into hillsides as a reminder that they had been here.

    For many these would be the last evidence that these men had even existed which knowing this possibility is maybe why they were done.

    Here are just a couple to mark ANZAC day;

    There are many ANZAC graves in cemeteries around here and many Canadian too so if anyone would like a photo of any particular grave or even just cemetery drop me a pm and if it is close enough for me to get to in an hour or so on my motorcycle rides out in the sun, I will see what I can do.

    Regards

    Mark
    PS sorry about the white lines on the Kiwi. I think I picked the wrong pic. Those lines might be from an optical sight.

    Thanks for these pics mate, they're great! We had a fantastic turnout in Perth for the dawn service and the march, it's a special day.
