I have always been fan of this series of photos taken at the British First Army School of Scouting, Observation and Sniping during WW1. These came to my attention after reading Major Hesketh- Prichard's Sniping in France 1914- 18 Pretty effective considering that camouflage was really in its infancy at the time I reckon. Oh, and in the second pic there are two snipers

Here is the closest known camouflage to man....... which will never be 100% effective from the eyes of his more disciplined half.

Digital camo works in couches, it seems.

    Personally I prefer ATACS (arid).

The Realtree camouflage in post #1 is often seen advertised in monthly shooting publications in the UK. I'm not entirely convinced there isn't a bit of photo shopping going on with it.

Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....

Here is my contribution... When i hear of camouflafed items first thing it crosses my mind is the pic of the bf109 in the desert! Everything else is the result of the internet search that followed! Some pretty amazing photos out there!!!

The realtree and it's variants worked very well when I used to hunt waterfowl and doves in the Imperial Valley in California. I've heard rumors that waterfowl see as well as a human looking through a 4X scope, but don't have any idea if there is any truth to that.

I believe the Army used to call the Waffen SS , "tree frogs" . Due to there camo uniforms . But it didn't take long for them to change their tune .
