Here's a shot of a light bedtime snack camo experiment i'm trying right now....Spot the healthy, fresh vegetable hiding in this lot - definitely ghastly in appearance.
Well, I don't know what that is, but if I saw it on the sidewalk, I sure wouldn't step in it!

The problem with the pics of the WW1 camos in leaves is there weren't many leaves in the mud holes and trenches of the western front and fall only lasts for a couple of weeks. The colours and lines were to break up the shape of the helmet in the chalk and mud of the Somme, the slime of the Ypres front and the moonscape of Verdun.

    Sorry Doug,
I'm fresh out of treeless, bomb cratered, moonscapes ............besides it is difficult fitting one into a light box.

Perhaps Afghanistan would do, but I'd hate to waste a vacation there and I'm quite sure the missus would object.

Well, here you go; one treeless, bomb cratered Afghanistan moonscape comming up. You superimpose your own helmet in the pic

It was'nt a vacation and yes, the missus did mind!

(I assure you this is not photoshopped or anything: I personally photographed that moth in my garden a few years back!)
