    Hi everyone

Amongst other things I have got into collecting Russian glass canteens. I have 4 colours at the moment and am looking for more but I have become stuck on 1 point, how to display them.

Anyone have any ideas on the best way or how you display your canteens.

    Cheers guys!

    Regards
    Jason

Just a quick one. I have a cover for one of them.

The stands they are on are my helmet stands in progress, was making more over the weekend. I am thinking something lit or at least a light behind them, to bring out the colours

Thise is used by the French to dry wine bottles and can be found on flea markets.
Pretty expensive to have send to Australia, but maybe you can copy it!?

I was thinking summat similar. How about knocking up a rectangular box and cutting 4 oval shaped holes in the top so that the canteens sit at a slight diagonal angle, maybe 45-60 degrees. Buy one of those under unit LED light boxes that have 4 bulbs and stick it underneath the display, plug it in, et voila!

Some nice glass there. I quite fancy collecting those myself as I'm partial to good piece of glass. The best way to display glass is definitely with lighting. I display on a glass shelf with back lighting and even clear glass will look stunning. When it gets dark I'll post a pic.

Here is a simple way to display plain coloured glass to good effect using a simple tube strip lighting which is facing against the wall. You will probably find some good stands for your flasks in a craft shop. Ask for plate and china display stands.
