    Hey Guys,

I'm looking for any books that might help me in starting out collecting medals. Any books on spotting fakes (If their are any) But more books on WWII Items that are update to date for close to it.

I've found a few bits and bobs online, but not much, on medals and basics on spotting fakes. But is there anyone a bit more in depth and articles on spotting fake flags, armbands etc?

    Any help would be great

This question comes up time and time again.

Study original items. Once you know what they look like, you will know a fake when you see it.

The forum is more up to date than any book. But books are vital.

If you are collecting German items buy all of the books listed here:

Quality books are not cheap. Do not think you are saving money by not buying them. You need books long before you make you first purchases.

    Cheers, Ade.

Completely agree with Ade's comments. What area do you collect/want to collect? Study the relevant forums here and ask questions, use the search function and don't get hung up on what fakes look like, how will you know an original if you only spot fakes?
