Nice sword. Certainly a derivative of the British pattern 1796 Light Cavalry Sabre. But I don't think this sabre is a Dutch 1813 Light Cavalry Sabre, as those had a 3 bar guard rather than the classic stirrup guard found on the P1796 and the Prussian "Blucher" sabre which only began production in 1814. Prior to that Britain supplied it's allies with the sword, which included the Dutch at Waterloo. But in this example there are some blade differences from the classic P1796. The blade appears to be less tip weighted and more pointed than the P1796. What is the length of the blade? It could well date from the 1820's or later.

    Thanks for your input.
A different forum also confirmed it to be Dutch but also dated it about the 1820 ties...
But no exact army branch or any other further details from that source.
The blade can be seen here with a Prussian M1889, but the curved one measures 90 cm.
