The film industry can't get it right.

Article about: by davesap250 If they make All quiet on the Western Front again I hope they do a proper job on it. I see Peter Jackson has put on hold the re-make of the Dambusters. Apparantly it has a \\$30,

I've just watched Cross of iron and i was amazed by the cock ups in the film, the Soviet troops wearing Italian/Bulgarian helmets, Steiner handing over full oval erkennungsmarke from the dead rather than the bottom half, some officers wearing a Krim schild? on their right arm.
Have you got any other film cock ups you can think of?...

One of my favorites is "The Green Berets" John Wayne jumps out of
the DC3 without hooking up his static line. I was also amazed by the
beautiful pine forests of Vietnam .

There are Pine forests in Vietnam. But I agree that some movies are pretty silly.

As silly as it sounds it is plausible (see link), although much more likely just Hollywood being Hollywood.

Interesting photo, Germans with Norwegian Krag

In The Young Lions, Marlon Brando enters an apartment building wearing a general assault badge on his tunic and enters the apartment of his commanding officer's wido wearing an infantry assault badge. When leaving the building, he is once again wearing the general asasult badge. Definitely shot on different days!

A lot of war movies have incorrect vehicles: In 'PATTON' and 'The Battle Of
The Bulge', some of the jeeps are late 1940's CJ-2A's or 1950's M38's,
along with 1950's Dodge M37 trucks, and all the German Panzers
    are US Chaffe tanks.

In 'The Guns Of Navarone', most of the German trucks are
    1950's Dodge M37's.

All German tanks and halftracks in the 1960's TV
series 'The Rat Patrol' were American.........
