Thanks fuerbach, I appreciate your help but I know about the origin of that symbol. including the many cultures who used variations of it, such as the Norse , native Americans , Tibetans , the Hindu, and so on..
My concern was what the characters mean. Is it a prayer, or good luck?

The swastika is a Buddhist symbol and is seen throughout Asia. Is this embroidery Chinese, I wonder?

Thank you, Guy. I suppose it could be Possibly Chinese, I don't know, I can't read either language so this is why I am asking for help. As said, I already know about the swastika symbol. I wanted to know what the other Chinese or Japanese characters mean. And /or the era this may have been made. This isn't my area of collecting so any info is greatly welcome
    Thanks,
    Dean.

Hi Dean, just been told from my wife that it seems to be a gift for a Chinese wedding, which was given to the happy couple to wish them good luck for the future, hope this helps you.

Hi Dean, you are more than welcome, In your bottom picture it definitely says 'Wedding' and the other kanji are for 'good luck' sorry can't be specific about dates but she seems to think it's about 60-70 years old.
    Regards
    Kevin
