I am tired watching these movies were the germans are displayed like evil heartless bastards, and the allied are extremely nice and good angels.

Well, with no insult to many of our members here,I am sick and tired of seeing how the US won both World Wars, by themselves.
And I work in the film industry!!

Don't tell me, I can guess, the Sherman and its crew drive into Berlin and blow up the Fuhrer bunker, killing Adolf and all his gang, but of course they have to keep it quiet and give the credit to the Russians.

Whatever its just an opinion.
Maybe a top British film director such as Danny Boyle or Sam Mendes should make a film about the Battle of Crete.
There were no Americans in that battle...were there?

I would actually love to see a good movie made on Crete!
Look at the film 'Objective Burma!' with Errol Flynn:
Even though it was based on the exploits of Merrill's Marauders, Objective Burma was withdrawn from release in the United Kingdom after it infuriated British Prime Minister Winston Churchill and drew protests about the Americanization of an almost entirely British, Indian and Commonwealth conflict

Hollywood is not doing it to make a historical documentary,
They are doing it to make money. That means the same
old, tired plot. You have to remember the age of the people
going to the theaters to see these movies. 95% of them
could not tell you when ww2 was fought or who was involved.

I was addicted to the "Hokey-Pokey" but I've turned
myself around.
Sadly most kids get their history from video games and Hollywood.
Americans aren't all guilty of Americanizing the world wars. On another forum a European member castigated me for recommending Juno Beach as a stop on a planned D-Day tour, saying everyone knew nothing important happened there.
Collectors also are sadly influenced by Hollywood tripe and the video game industry.
