Perhaps that clue was a bit misleading. She held a Title in addition to her Military rank.

Hi Mo, yes, you are correct. She was one of only 19 women to be awarded the US Bronze Star.

Hi Dave, no, wrong on both counts sorry. Have a closer look at her post war photo again: now have a second look at her ribbon bar. This is a big clue. Find out that and then work your way back to her wartime service career.
