They are both Corporals and one man is from the Royal Artillery. Not certain on the other man though.

The other man is from a fairly famous British regiment... and his cap badge is clearly visible

You go ahead, I don't have anything ready...

The answer was: Left: Corporal, Gloucestershire Yeomanry (Royal Gloucestershire Hussars) and right: Corporal, Royal Field Artillery. Don't believe no-one could answer that

Thanks Rob, I hunted high and low, but couldn't find it. Should have checked the yeomanry badges a bit better....

Anyway, an easy one, what is this?

This is probably far from remotely correct, but is it part of the system that was designed to accelerate the launching of ballistic weapons, the word for which escapes me at the moment?
