I laughed, so hard. In all seriousness; from what I know of this story. He should be allowed to love his child and bring him up the way he see's fit, the judge doesn't decide on his Dad's ideologies. If the Dad is willing to look after his child, love cherish and all that goes with... he does need serious counselling though.
