HA-HA, You guys are funny :-) I absolutely do not know.... As I mentioned, it was labeled German, I don't think it is, BUT the only other items in the "lot" were a couple U.S. Medals, A Pair of Luftwaffe (Captain) Collar Tabs, Luftwaffe Tunic hand embroidered Breast Eagle, Hat Wreath (missing cockade), German Sharpshooters badge, and maybe one or two other items I cannot recall... That probably does not give any clue.... but I do believe this is from WW2 time period.. trying to identify is driving me crazy!!
As we are aware alot of insignia and the like were produced in Germany in the early post war period,the buckram backing seems to say maybe German manufacture.
Could be just a random design that was sold in post war Germany to unknowing servicemen in that era.
Just a thought.
