What about some Heinz Konsalik buy 3 or 4 though or even kostov .. Pure fiction but good for a giggle.

If you like Ambrose, Citizen Soldiers is good, or Pegasus Bridge. Beevor's Crete, or Berlin are also worth a read. In fact anything Beevor. I am reading his Stalingrad again at the moment and it is epic. Len Deighton's Blitzkrieg is also great.
I agree with you mate, Antony Beevors books are really good, I've got Crete, Berlin and Stalingrad and have enjoyed all three.
Most of the stuff by Tony Le Tissier is pretty good!....
As recommended above, Anthony Beevor's 'Berlin-The Downfall' and 'Stalingrad' are gripping.
It's been a while since I read it, but " In Deadly Combat", by Gottlob Biederman was very good. He was an infantry officer on the Eastern Front.
I just finished "Angriff" by Jason Mark, a detailed photo history of the attack on Stalingrad, and enjoyed it very much. It's expensive, though.
Oh, almost forgot; "Stuka Pilot", by Helmut Mahle. He was one of the early stuka "aces."
