... where would you go to pick up one relic and what would you pick?

I love seeing immediate post war photos, piles of discarded helmets, lines of abandoned aircraft, but have wondered if I had of been there, or could time travel, exactly what and where would I actually go and I still haven't yet reached a conclusion, although buying a scrap Spitfire or Hurricane for the price of the fuel in the tanks kind of appeals!!

Well assuming its only one item that you can carry, which counts out a flak 88 gun lol, I will keep it simple and say a really nice unit marked banner or flag, which is something that I do not have in my collection, or a complete uniform with medals and such, this is assuming anything of great value has already been looted lol

Simply a working Mauser 98k, such a great rifle.

Funny how at the time all the German helmets and gear were just not worth money because they were so mass produced and now people pay hundreds for it.
