Some of the best film quotes in Zulu!!! and the best words to men of Harlech ever written, these were written just for the film....

Men of Harlech stop your dreaming
Can't you see their spear points gleaming
    See their warrior's pennants streaming
    To this battle field

Men of Harlech stand ye steady
It cannot be ever said ye
For the battle were not ready
    Stand and never yield

    Form the hills rebounding
    Let this war cry sounding
    Summon all at Cambria's call
    The mighty force surrounding

    Men of Harlech onto glory
This shall ever be your story
Keep these fighting words before ye
Cambria (Welshmen never) will not yield

    Stirring stuff

Some great movies listed Some bring back a lot
    of memories.

I noticed only one person listed "The Dirty Dozen" It's still
    one of my favorites.

Personally, I think most of the war movies made in the last
10-15 years are crap with the exception of "We Were soldiers".

I also think that "Shindler's List" should be required watching
in high school. Young people have no clue what the holocaust
was. When we forget the past, we become capable of repeating
    the past.

I was addicted to the "Hokey-Pokey" but I've turned
    myself around.

Talking about "The Holocaust" and the film Schindlers List, I am surprised that no-one has mentioned the mini-series from the 1980's "Holocaust" with Meryl Streep.

I must admit to having a preference for the old, black and white films from the war years and just after, ut I do like some of the more modern films.
I could very easily make a list of several dozen films that I like watching/own/would like to own, but, you will be pleased to read that I will limit it to the ones below.
So, here goes, in no particular order:

    Das Boote
    The Longest Day
    WindTalkers
    Enemy At the Gates
    Enigma
    The Cruel Sea
    Went the Day Well
    Dambusters
    Wooden Horse
    Colditz Story
    Zulu
    Eagle Has Landed
    Zulu Dawn
    The Yellow Canary
    Dunkirk
    Bridge on the River Kwai
    Sand Pebbles
    Above us the Waves
    Saints and Soldiers
    Cross of Iron
    Flags of our Fathers
    Cockleshell Heroes
    Letters from Iwo Jima
    Carrington VC
    Band of Brothers
    Desert Rats
    A Bridge Too Far
    Fighting 69th
    Battle of Britain
    In Which We Serve
All Quiet On the Western Front
    Ice Cold in Alex
    Kellys Heroes
    Lawrence of Arabia
The Sea Shall Not Have Them

I could go on and on, but I will stop for now guys!

    Regards etc
