Agreed with big ned, one needs to remember the human loss above the material. The end actually came as quite a shock, totally unexpected. Couldn't believe it all ended that way. A heartbreaking story.

I remember the documentry ... wasn't it in three episodes ?
.. And at the end of the three, they hadn't got to the point of "air - worthyness" .....
.. And the next year, the story broke about the fire and destruction of the B29 ..

All that effort (and loss) ..

Yes I agree not really that good for the maintenance of morale..but still interesting..shame it didn't get where it wanted to go!!!...But better it burnt out on the ground than in the air...Cheers Terry.
