The Germans used between 1,300,000 and 1,500,000 Citizens from the USSR as Eastern Volunteers in the WW2. But the total included all volunteers was closer to 1,800,000.
The amount of Volunteers from Central Asia were some place between 15- 20,000.

Freiwilligen-stamm-Division that were defeated on the Western front in 1944, had soldiers from Armenia, Azerbadjianis, Volga-Tartars, Cossacks, Ukranians and Russians. I believe there is a tiny possibility this soldier on the photo were one of these.

I have not studied the details 100% of the "Freiwilligen-stamm-Division" , so i could be a little wrong here, so please correct me if i am.
