Default Large Collector cache of weapons found after death of a man in UK

Found on the web today .

"Terrifying cache of weapons including grenades, shells, knuckledusters and MACHINE GUNS found at home of dead man, 51, in Yorkshire market town
Police discovered a 'lifetime collection' of World War II weapons
More than 100 homes were evacuated over fears of mustard gas
The arsenal filled cabinets and displays in every room of the house
Collector Martin Johnson, 51, is said to have died of natural causes"

"But while they were at the address, police saw the house was swamped with wartime memorabilia - including munitions, shells and even rare knuckledusters.
The weapons filled every room of the house and were hung on walls, displayed in cabinets and piled onto shelves.
Police say it will be sometime before they know if the weapons are safe.
Chief Inspector Andy Hodgkinson, from South Yorkshire police, said: ‘He had an extensive collection - most of the rooms have got a large number of that sort of thing in them."

An epic collection going to scrap... It's a shame. Hopefully it will be saved, I don't know how things work over the pond. I think even in the US the automatic weapons would be destroyed. Sad really, they should at least be given to museums.

Wow, pretty damn terrifying. Funny how some things are not so terrifying in a museum, but a private house is a whole other story. And do spare me the lecture on Britains gun safety act of whenever the hell it was signed. Now y'all be sure to prosecute the next guy to the fullest extent of the law. Rapists; not so much. That's how it's done here anyway.

History worth thousands going to be possibly scraped, now that's the terrifying part in my opinion. Historic items like these should be preserved at all cost, not driven away to an uncertain future in a pile.
