The older threads refer to Claude Choules who was the last veteran who saw active service , Florence was the last person to have served during WW1 although not abroad on active service !!

Courage the greater as our strength faileth.
Here lies our leader ,in the dust of his greatness.
Who leaves him now , be damned forever.
We who are old now shall not leave this Battle,
But lie at his feet , in the dust with our leader

The last active service veteran was Claude Choules RN/RAN who died last year-to be honest Florence Green had a pretty marginal role right at the end of the war but obviously some one was going to be the last one standing-"It's a long way to Tipperary, it's a long way go...' RIP
