Here is the Lincoln Life Collection. It is in the centre of Lincoln city a small but a well presented collection of the Royal Lincolnshire Regiment.Also something I didn't know?. But the WW1 tanks were built & designed in Lincoln.So in this rather small collection is a real tank called FLIRT 2. Which well worth a look. & the best bit it is free...Sorry for the crappy photos I didn't have my camera so we used the daughters phone. Thanks for looking Cheers Terry. Great post! I've been to the museum on the Burton road several times whilst holidaying up the road in South Carlton. It's always been pretty quiet when i've been, and we were able to park right outside the gatehouse opposite the Co-Op nearly everytime. Happy memories.

Yeah gents it isn't big but it is inside an old Victorian camp too which is nice to walk around. I didn't take too many photos..because the Lincolnshire regiment history goes back to 1685 so there is sections on that which are worth a look. Also there are other things like classrooms,bedrooms,sweet shops of the day all very interesting.I will go back it is worth 2 or more visits. & thanks for the comments Cheers Terry.

Yep thats the one Ned.. I couldn't get that close but I didn't park too far away..I thought was a really nice set up. Also just up the road is another old Army camp..My daughter lives not far from that place & there are info boards etc..well worth a summers afternoon exploring.. Cheers Terry.

Yeah the TA centre further back up the road on the other side, I think the Royal Anglians have a presence there too. The brick architecture is a wonderful example of victorian building, it reminds me of St. Pancras railway station in the way it's built.

Yep hit the nail on the head Ned..If you go behind the TA camp that is where the old camp now sits with a very nice info board which hasn't been smashed up yet!!. that is worth a walk around. Cheers Terry.

I used I used to go there on trips as a kid.
Not far from North Hykeham where my school was.

The first tanks were designed by Tritton, hence Tritton road that opened in the 70's
