    Too true, perhaps a 'forum jolly' could be arranged?

    Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....

    Hope they have beefed up the security , a lot of money will be on show , seeing them will definately be worth a trip down from the North !!!

    Hi,
    That will be a great trip to take and see all those originals in one place. Did any of you see the documenary about the collection the pther day, it was presented by prince charles. And showed how they were won right back to when they were signed as medals by Queen Victoria. really good viewing.

    Is the metal used for the medals still from captured Russian cannons from the Crimean war?

    As far as i know Nick there is still enough left for quite a few VC's
