Not forgetting the alternate world in "Fatherland" by Robert Harris which superbly mixes fact & fiction ,exellent novel & a film that could do with being remade (although Rutger Hauer was great in it even if his uniform was 2 sizes to big) Have a great Christmas everyone ,cheers ,Paul

There was also a double ep arc of Star Trek NG that covered the Nazis occupying part of the US with the aid of alien technology-JU 87s with plasma cannon for example!

When it comes to WW2-related alternate history movies, "It Happened Here" by Kevin Brownlow & Andrew Mollo is a classic and still well worth seeing (and not just for the effort put into getting the uniforms (both the historical and the conjectural ones) right.

As for literary examples: I greatly enjoyed Harry Turtledove's "Worldwar" series of novels, depicting an alien invasion during the height of WW2. (If that sounds a bit goofy, I can assure you that it isn't.)

Yes, It Happened Here is highly recommended. It gets the uniforms and other historical details correct, has some fine characterisations and really understands the atmosphere and character of London and England in the 1940s. However, perhaps the thing its most notable for is in portraying the ambiguities of resistance and collaboration. It's a long time since I read SS-GB, but I believe that Deighton also does that well too. Hopefully the makers of the series be able to resist the many temptations to take the easy path into cliche.

I think this tv-series, like 95% of what's out there, portrays the same boring Nazi stereotypes as we have seen a dozen times.

My favorite is Frederick Forsyth´s The Odessa File.

Any other suggestion?
