I have seen him a couple of times when visiting my sister in law in Stuttgart.

I think it is pretty cool that he formed friendships with 2 other great tacticians.

He used to visit Cardiff quite often as the towns were twinned, I never met him, just some useless trivia.

I am born in Stuttgart and my home is still there.There is now a big gap in the city without him.

From various TV interviews Manfred was involved in, it was clear that he was a very level headed man, who had lived and viewed first hand the down side of the years 1933 - 1945.
