Masonic Medal? Need help identifying
My grandfather brought this back from over seas He brought back a couple of ww1 things with his ww2 stuff and i'm not sure what this medal is. I know its silver and the stamping on the back under magnification almost looks double stamped. Help please.DSCF0674.jpgDSCF0675.jpg
Wondering if the sword on this medal is a style used by Germans?

It is a medallion of office for the masons it was worn by the tylers who were guards or keepers to turn away anyone who didnt have business with the masons when meetings were in progress.

Im sorry i couldnt tell you a age without knowing what the stamp is in the back of it. I cant make it out in the photos, i dont know about rariety or if the masons still use these as a symbol. Talk to a mason if you can one of ur grandpas colleges perhaps sorry i couldnt be more helpful
