Article about: Finally found a mint Britain in box , 25 pdr. Gun Howitzer ! Even still has the rounds in the box . Anyone have any idea of date ? Cheers Chris

    50's or 60's I guess, but it sure is in beautiful condition, very nice.

    Produced from the late 40s to the 70s, but with the style of box as Jerry said 1950s to 60s!..

    Early1960s...I won one of these as a small kid in competition (drawing I think) run by the Daily Mirror.

    Did these come in a smaller size also? When I was a kid,eons ago, I had a smaller one in Blue color-it shot stick matches, as I recall...

    I would agree with the 60's date. I still have mine, and I shot matches with it too and did a few years ago with my eldest Grandson!

    Pristine vintage toy CBH! To be honest, the model resembles the older 4.5 inch howitzer far more than the 25 pounder though.

    Got hit in the eye with one of these things as a kid - nearly blinded me. Wore a bandage for 2 weeks and blurry vision for ages after...

    so not bringing back many good memories for me, sorry ......... ( nice condition though )

    The guy takes a Direct hit to the eye from a round out of a Howitzer and walks away and Still he complains....man, some people are just hard to please....
