Very cool pics. I have seen some similar pics in the battlefield section on this forum.
Here is one of mine, though not military but the same process has affected this piece of equipment.

I remember my first visit to the killing fields of Verdun back in 1969 when I was in the Army. I recall looking up into the conifer trees not far from Morte Homme. There were discarded bits of equipment, helmets and belts which had been resurrected from the ground as the trees grew upwards.

I really liked the helmets with the tree growing right through them. I agree with aurelius180. That would be creepy to find them that way.
