New Combat Photo's Taken By U.S. General Charles Day Palmer Published For 1st Time.
Here's an interesting article in today's Daily Mail showing newly published photo's taken by U.S. General Charles Day Palmer of the 2nd Armoured Division during his progress across the Western Front from Normandy, through Belgium and into Germany. There are some remarkable and sobering images within it.

It should be noted that the photo of the crashed aircraft where the unfortunate pilots remains are visible listed as "This photo taken on March 15, 1945, shows the charred remains of a German pilot whose plane was brought down on the first day of the Seventh Army offensive in Germany." is incorrect, the aircrafts canopy clearly shows that it's an American P-47 D Razorback, the earlier version of the bubble canopied Thunderbolts.

I once new a guy who was a US Army combat photographer in Vietnam.
He told me that when he rotated back to the states, he had nearly 50 rolls
of film that he never turned in to the Army.
I tried for a couple of years to see them and told him I would buy them but
he told me no one would want to see them. He was badly tormented by the
images he saw and the last time I saw him he said that he had burned the film
along with his medals and uniform. I think it was a real shame to do that but
I hope for his sake that he found some sort of peace.
