So this one doesn't quite meet the definition of a collage, but the photos are a result of my spending quarantine time in the war room, so I'm going with the quarantine angle.
I purchased this map case as an ostensibly empty case devoid of content. I bought it because it was a handsome example and nicely maker marked (more on that in a minute) and named to Leutnant Fritz Wurmer. Well, after it arrived I stuck my hand down in it... because you never know... and found a nice little bonus. No Knights Cross, unfortunately, but I pulled my hand back out clutching Fritz Wurmer's trusty can opener! It's a bit grungy but I like to think it's "authentic grunge" from opening delicious Wehrmacht canned rations at the Front.
The firm of Waldhausen got its start making saddles and makes them still to this day. The A. Waldhausen comes from the founder, Anton Waldhausen.
