There are many war related documentaries and some of them are very nice helping the viewer to learn a lot of things about history. Of course most of us have learned facts form history books yet it's more fascinating to watch them with nice footage.
I will recommend the ''Apocalypse'' which is a French production. I paste below the description from the DVD:

''As broadcast on Channel 4, Apocalypse is the groundbreaking documentary series that tells the brutal and moving history of World War 2 entirely through colourised archive footage.

Three years in the making and gathered from more than 60 national libraries and personal archives, Apocalypse tells in amazing, never-before-seen detail, the key events that shaped the conflict: from the Blitzkrieg to the Allied bombing of Berlin and Stalingrad, through to the dropping of the Atomic Bomb on Hiroshima.

In six one-hour episodes, prepare to experience first-hand how nations were saved, whole armies lost and heroes made.''

I agree. Those series are very nice, despite the fact that i disagree with the practice that Mossad used in many cases. Unfortunately i haven't seen them all. I'll search in the web if i can find them in torrents.

Yeah, but that's strictly political and nationalistic propaganda...it's fine and all if you just want to see how the war was made to look like for the german civilians back then, but if you want an actual German soldiers view incl. amateur footage shot by themselves and with them commenting on the events depicted: "Mein Krieg" fascinating stuff, real insight
