Just got this idea from reading another thread, does anyone have the titles of any reference books that they would not recommend? Any books on any subjects to do with our hobby that may include incorrect information or photos of fakes depicted as originals etc.. I like reference books but have never really considered that some of them may not be accurate until now. Cheers fellas, Dave.

I once read this book "100 weapons that changed history". On many pages the images were totally different of the things depicted in the text, two examples come to my mind now. First one was from a WW2 photograph of British units, and the text mentioned one of the soldiers wielding a Thompson, but all the soldiers in the picture had the SMLE. Another one was of an Israeli (?) soldier with an Uzi fitted with a wooden stock, and the text said it was a M1 Carbine.

I can't help thinking this topic might be a can of worms waiting to be opened
