Are Silica Gel Packs Safe with Medals etc.?

Article about: I'm about to put silica gel packs in with my metal German items like EK2, zinc PAB's, badges, buckles, etc. all made of different war time metals. Has anyone ever had these packs react to an

    I'm about to put silica gel packs in with my stored metal German items like EK2, zinc PAB's, badges, buckles, etc. all made of different war time metals. Has anyone ever had these packs react to any of these collectibles over time where they may have discolored or damaged the item?

    I might put them in with some armbands too, so perhaps I should ask about cloth items also.

    They're commonly used for just this sort of thing I believe, but just want to make sure this is a harmless way to add extra moisture protection before doing so.

    I've used them for years along with things like coins and they've always worked well.

    No issues here as i put one in each dagger storage case..just dont eat them
