Thompson or M1 Carbine

Although an M1 Carbine would probably look better, and weigh a lot less
on a display, the Thompson is the way I'd go - an M1 Carbine is worth
1/4 the cost of a .45 Tommy gun, IMO.........

Its a difficult choice.
Both look great on display.
I dont know, but probably the thompson.
I will have to do a lot of thinking on this.

Hi Nuno I my self am torn as both are very fine firearms and either would look good displayed you have a very tough decision to make .
There are many factors to take into consideration as mentioned above to be historically correct such as is the GI an NCO what army group was he attached were did he see service .

But heart says the Thompson - it's very impressive, and just about anyone recognizes it.

So - go for the Thompson, and then save up for an M1.....

I would love to have them both but i can only get one, as im also looking for a nice rifle for my axis display

Then I'd go for the Thompson - IMPO it just shades the M1 as being a truly classic firearm......

Can't imagine the CLASH singing a song called "M1 Carbine" ....... just doesn't have the same ring as "tommy gun"

Hard chooise.. but since the A1 have a 20 round mag I would go for the M1.
And.. the M1 is a lot lighter which makes it easier for the GI.

Absolutely!!! Tommy Gun and preferably with the 50 rd drum, Even Winston Churchill likes the drum version
