    He was a great man and we should hold them in our thoughts and prayers.
    You can read his accomplishments and what he has done with work at the Normandy cemetery.


    Joseph Phillip "Phil" RIVERS, passed away Tuesday 20 November 2012 ", at the family residence surrounded by family and friends.
    Phil was born and raised January 4, 1947 in Massena, NY. He graduated from Holy Family High School in Massena. He served in the Air Force from 1966 to 1970 he was sent to Germany where he met his French wife and stayed until December 1975. In January 1976, he began working for ABMC became the Superintendent for the American Battle Monuments Commission in France, Europe (Brittany, Oise-Aisne, Normandy, and Meuse-Argonne Cemetery), until retiring in May 2011 after 36 years of service,

    Sorry to hear of your father's passing Chris.
    I understand exactly how you feel, my father passed after a bout with cancer in 1985 at the age of 59. I still miss him and would love to be able to show him what I have accomplished with my life since he has gone.

    I have Rifle Volley casings from the 40th and 50th Normandy Ceremonies From him,with Reagan and Clinton speeking at them.
    What a great guy and dad.
    He did a lot for the preservation of war graves.
